Background
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) scheme has now closed. The UK Government is preparing to launch the Warm Homes Plan, a new and ambitious programme designed to upgrade millions of homes to higher energy efficiency standards.
The Warm Homes Plan is primarily aimed at households on lower incomes, in fuel poverty, or living in properties with a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating. Eligible households are expected to be able to access improvements at little or no cost.

Retrofit Group manages the application to the scheme funder on your behalf. We submit all technical documentation, arrange scaffolding or access as required, and confirm your installation date — with zero admin burden on you.
Our certified engineers install your measures to MCS and PAS 2030 standards. Once complete, we walk you through everything, register your warranties, and provide an updated EPC for your property.

Not exactly — it's the successor to ECO4. ECO4 has closed, and the Warm Homes Plan is the UK Government's new energy efficiency programme. It covers many of the same measures but with a broader scope and updated eligibility criteria. If you previously applied for ECO4 but were unsuccessful, it's worth checking whether you qualify under the new scheme.
Yes. The Warm Homes Plan operates across England, Scotland, and Wales. In Scotland, it works alongside existing Scottish Government programmes such as the Home Energy Scotland grant and loan scheme. Retrofit Group operates across Central Scotland and can advise you on the best combination of funding available to your household.
In many cases, eligible households receive improvements completely free of charge. However, the amount of funding available depends on the energy supplier funding your installation and the specific measures being installed. Where a contribution is required, it will be confirmed before any works commence — there are no hidden costs.
Possibly. Each scheme has its own rules about what measures can be installed in a property that has already received prior scheme improvements. In some cases, additional measures such as solar PV or heat pumps can be added. Our surveyor will be able to advise based on your specific property and what was previously installed.
Yes, in some circumstances. The Warm Homes Plan can fund improvements to privately rented properties where the landlord gives consent and the tenant meets the eligibility criteria. There may also be landlord contribution requirements in certain cases. We can liaise with your landlord directly if required.
